Merton’s Economic Development Strategy was developed in recognition of the impact of the recession and the actions needed as a result. The economic narrative draws together the research and evidence to support Merton’s economic development strategy and action plan.
The Employment and Skills Action Plan provides a framework for the council and its partners on the Merton Economic Wellbeing Group (EWG) to address the worklessness and skills challenges in the borough. The EWG is a group of agencies from across the borough with an interest in worklessness and skills within Merton who have agreed to plan and co-ordinate interventions to reduce unemployment and increase economic wellbeing. It includes the council, Merton Chamber of Commerce, Registered Housing Providers, Jobcentre plus.
