In addition to the information within Merton Data there are a number of other helpful sites which provide access to London, national and other local authority data. Please find links and a brief description of the data sources below.
Merton data
The Authority’s Monitoring Report (AMR) monitors the performance of Merton’s planning polices and the extent to which we are meeting targets set out in the project plan (Local Development Scheme)
It contains statistical information on Merton’s socio-economic profile, housing delivery, employment and open spaces.
It also includes Merton’s performance against its share of London’s housing target and a list of the sites for new homes that are expected to be built within the next five years.
The AMR is published each January and monitors the preceding financial year. For example, Merton’s AMR 2014-15 monitored development between 1April 2014 and 31 March 2015, and was published in January 2016.
London data
The London Datastore is a free and open data-sharing portal where anyone can access data relating to the capital. Whether you’re a citizen, business owner, researcher or developer, the site provides over 700 datasets to help you understand the city and develop solutions to London’s problems

Provides a link to the dashboards for the London wide crime priorities, of which the council is also working on locally to address
Met Police Statistics and Data
This provides performance information on crime in London and offers the opportunity to drill down to local areas on a map
The Greater London Authority (GLA) collects data about the major planning permissions in London through the London Development Database. The data is provided by the London boroughs, who are responsible for providing details of the permissions in their area. Only permissions meeting specific criteria are stored. This site allows you to view these permissions spatially, providing a picture of development sites in London that is not restricted by borough boundaries.
The London Infrastructure Map is an interactive tool which lets you explore current and future development and infrastructure projects. It gives developers, providers and utilities a clear picture of what developments are taking place. It also helps them to work together effectively, for example, to plan the phasing of projects – reducing disruptions and costs.
National data
LG Inform presents you with up-to-date published data about your local area and the performance of your council or fire and rescue authority. Whether you’re interested in scrutiny, a particular service area, or simply need an overview, it can help you review and compare performance with other authorities

An interactive spreadsheet for comparing data about children and young people across all local authorities in England
Nomis is a service provided by the Office for National Statistics, ONS, to give you free access to the most detailed and up-to-date UK labour market statistics from official sources.
The End Child Poverty coalition exists to hold the Government, and all main political parties, to account for their commitment to eradicate child poverty by 2020. Through data and interactive maps the level of child poverty in local authorities can be explored across the UK
DataShine is a toolkit for creating web maps for showing geographical data that has been collated and analysed by the BODMAS project, based at UCL’s Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, such as the 2011 Census data.

Local Health provides quality assured health information at small area level. As well as five pre-set geographical levels, you can combine areas to create your own geographies, and view the information and reports for these bespoke areas. Reports allow you to compare a selected area to the England average for a range of indicators
Anyone working within public health or any individuals with an interest in public health may find the sources above useful. They have health related data and tools which can be used to look at numerous health related conditions. This data allows readers to compare areas of interest to other areas and to both National and Regional data enabling them to build up a picture of their local environment and neighbourhood
