Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
The JSNA is an ongoing process by which local authorities and other public sector partners jointly describe the current and future health and wellbeing needs of the local population and identify priorities for action around health, wellbeing and social care services locally.
The Merton Story is a high-level assessment of the health and wellbeing needs of Merton’s population which have been identified through the JSNA process and is developed to inform commissioning intentions in the borough. It provides an evidence base that the Council and its partners can draw upon to inform policy, strategy and action in a way that reflects the needs and priorities of Merton residents. It is a snapshot of Merton as a place to live and work and a summary of the health and wellbeing of the population. The Merton Story is one part of the wider Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNA), which are owned by the Merton Health & Wellbeing Board (H&WBB) and are complemented with a number of other products such as health needs assessments on specific topics and profiles.
